- Those who have received grant with the same research topic in the past and those who are currently receiving other types of grant from other institutions of the Republic of Korea are ineligible for this program.
Reminders
- The beneficiary of this program should stay in the Republic of Korea during the fellowship period.
- Beneficiaries who wish to terminate their participation in the program earlier than scheduled without legitimate reasons will be required to return the grant received.
- All personal information provided by applicants will only be used for this program. All applicants should consent to the collection and use of his/her personal information submitted in the application to commence the process.
- Documents submitted will not be returned. ※ The program will proceed after the final selection is made and once the contract is signed.

II. MOU-IFES Grant Funding for Academic and Policy Research Projects on North Korea and Unification
Research Topic: select 1 from the following
- Regional order of Northeast Asia and measures for unified future of the Korean Peninsula
- Cooperation with the international community for the ‘Audacious Initiative’
- Strengthening public diplomacy to pursue peaceful unification of Korea
- Case studies on domestic integration process of divided country
- South Korea’s responses for North Korea’s diplomacy
- Topic of your choice related to North Korea and the Korean Peninsula *Note: Priority will be given to the topics(1-5) listed above.

Restrictions
- A principal researchers, co-authors and researchers receiving grant or is planned to receive grant (existing or forthcoming) from elsewhere during the funding period (April 1, 2023 ~ end of completion of proposed research) will be deemed ineligible for application.
- An applicant who has received or is receiving funding from another sponsor(s) for a project with the same research theme will be deemed ineligible for application.
- An applicant who has received a research grant from a Korean organization (e.g., Korea Foundation, National Research Foundation of Korea, Ministry of Unification, etc.) but failed to meet the grant requirements (i.e., failed to submit research results by the required deadline) will be considered unqualified and therefore ineligible to apply.
- An applicant who has received grant funding from the ‘2022 Academic and Policy Research Projects on North Korea and Unification’ will be deemed ineligible for application.
Reminders
- Submitted applications will not be returned.
- The discovery of false statements in an application will result in that application being excluded from review.
- Submit supporting evidence/documentation of the proposal as an attachment (i.e., submit as a single PDF file)
