The Institute for Far Eastern Studies (Director Kwan-Sei Lee) hosted a roundtable meeting with the research delegation from the Jilin Academy of Social Sciences at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 5, in the Conference Room on the first floor of Peace Hall.

The meeting was attended by Wang Hui, Director of the Institute of Korean Studies; Wang Yongping, Chief Editor of Social Science Front; Ma Ni, Director of the Research; Li Xue, Director, Foreign affairs Division; and Quan Longjie, Associate Research Fellow at the Institute of Sociology(CASS). From the Institute for Far Eastern Studies, Director Kwan-Sei Lee, HyungJong Lee (Director of Planning & Promotion), and Hyunjoo Oh (Senior Researcher) took part.

Both institutions engaged in in-depth discussions to enhance academic exchange and agreed to: ▲ Hold regular joint academic seminars; ▲ Conduct joint research projects and publish collaborative research volumes; and ▲ Promote reciprocal publication of articles in each other’s academic journals.

The delegation also paid a courtesy visit to Kyungnam University President Jae Kyu Park and met with faculty members, including the President of the University of North Korean Studies and the Director of the Simyeon Institute for North Korean Studies, to discuss future academic cooperation. They later toured the North Korea Studies Archive at the university library.

This meeting was organized to explore concrete measures for implementing the Academic Exchange Agreement signed on December 3, 2024.
