The Institute for Far Eastern Studies, Kyungnam University (Director Lee Kwan-Sei) held a meeting with Shi Shoulin (Vice President of the Jilin Provincial Academy of Social Sciences, China) at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 29, at the Peace Hall 1F conference room.

The meeting was attended by Shi Shoulin (Vice Preaident, JLASS), Li Xue (Director, Foreign Affairs Department, JLASS), Jin Meihua (Secretary of the Center for Northeast Asian Studies, Yang Xuefeng (Director of the Center for Russian Studies), Wang Hui(Director of Korea Studies Institute,JLASS), Lee Kwan-Sei (Director, IFES), Lee Sang-Man, Cho Jin-Goo, Lee HyungJong (Professor of the Institute for Far Eastern Studies, Kyungnam University) and Koo Kap-Woo, Yu Young-Soo, Kim Sung-Kyung, (Professor of the University of North Korean Studies)

During the meeting, they discussed the roles and major research areas of the University of North Korean Studies and The Institute for Far Eastern Studies, Kyungnam University the research achievements of the Jilin Academy of Social Sciences, and the cooperation between the DPRK, Russia, and China.

Meanwhile, as a think tank, the three organizations will strive to become partners in collaborative and academic exchanges for a “stable Korean Peninsula” and the development of inter-Korean relations.
