The Institute for Far Eastern Studies, Kyungnam University (Director Kwan-Sei Lee) held a discussion with the H.E. Amb. Svein Saether, Special Advisor to the Norwegian Center for Conflict Resolution (NOREF) (former Norwegian Ambassador to China), on Thursday, May 23 at IFES.

The meeting was attended by Amb. Saether and Ingebjrg Finnbakk (Advisor to the Norwegian Center for Conflict Resolution), as well as IFES director Lee Kwan-Sei, and Amb. Cho Byungjae (former ROK ambassador to Malaysia and current Visiting Scholar at IFES).

During the meeting, the participants shared their views on a number of topics, including the changing situation on the Korean Peninsula, trends in North Korea, Russia-North Korea military and economic cooperation, possible outcomes of the US presidential election in November 2024 and its impact on Korea, and the possibilities and prospects of North Korea expanding its external relations in the future.
