The IFES (Director Kwan-Sei Lee) held a seminar under the theme ‘A Search for the Direction of North Korean Administrative Research’ at the IFES on November 25, 2022.

This seminar discussed promising improvements regarding North Korean Administrative Research with the awareness of insufficient amount of research with respect to North Korean administration.

This seminar was hosted by Director Kwan-Sei Lee, Welcoming remarks were provided by Tobin Im, a professor of the Graduate School of Public Administration at Seoul National University.

Professor Young Joon Choi at the IFES of Kyungnam University (the former Vice Unification Minister), the former President Gilho Jeong at North Korean Administration Research, and Chief Researcher Jiho Ahn at Goyang Research Institute presented at the seminar. In addition, Professor Heon Joo Jung at the Department of Public Administration, Yonsei University, Professor Yujin Choi at the Department of Public Administration, Ewha Woman’s University, Professor Hee-Jae Lee at the Department of Public Administration, Changwon National University participated in the discussion.

Director Kwan-Sei Lee said that he expected this seminar could be an opportunity to expand the research concerning North Korean administration.
